Flex Fee System

We use a Flex Fee approach in the practice of law. Our Flex Fee system takes into account that some projects are quite large and on-going, in which instance our hourly rate is lowered to accommodate the value to us of the scale of the project and the client's need for a 'break' on a major matter. We don't have to break the bank. It also takes into account that some projects should be undertaken in phases, with different fee structures for each phase. Illustratively, we will charge one hourly rate or a flat fee, if that is agreeable to the client, to attempt to achieve dispute resolution without formal proceedings. We urge clients to consider that early amicable resolution of any business dispute is usually of greater value than winning a long drawn out formal trial or arbitration proceeding -- it may not always be as important who is right or wrong as it is to get the matter behind you and move on with the positive aspects of managing your business. The value of early, informal resolution of disputes is taken into account in the fee structure. If such resolution is not achievable, the fee structure is adjusted downward to accommodate cost efficiencies to the client for the longer haul project.

On-going general counseling has its own Flex Fee options. It can be made available either at a negotiated hourly rate or at a flat rate per period, customarily a month at a time, with further accommodations for longer commitments.

Expert assistance at specialized programs development can also be accommodated in the Flex Fee system.

In every possible matter we attempt to provide a client friendly fee arrangement that takes into account who the client is -- what the project is -- how the project can be divided into cost efficient parts and then taken a step at a time -- and the fact that we bring four decades of highly focused practice history to every client and to every matter.
